Olive Pecan Cheese Ball

As summer approaches and friends begin to gather more, look no further for the perfect appetizer. This recipe is great for an appetizer to share and it is very easy to prepare.

Olive Pecan Cheese Ball Recipe

Olive Pecan Cheese Ball

Yield: 1 cheese ball

Prep time: Approx. 30 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour  minutes

List of Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz block of cream cheese
  • ½ cup Spanish olives with pimientos
  • 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise 
  • ½ tsp of onion powder
  • ½ cup of Rancho Pecana chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup of fresh chives

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add the mayo and onion powder to the bowl and beat until combined. Fold in the chopped olives. 
  2. In a plastic wrap, place the mixture in your desired shape. Let it chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour or until the cream cheese is firm. 
  3. Meanwhile, place the chopped pecans in a single layer on parchment paper. Bake the pecans for 350 degrees for 8 minutes and constantly turn them so they won’t burn. Remove the pan from the oven and allow the pecans to cool for 30 minutes. 
  4. When the pecans are cool enough, mix the toasted pecans and chopped chives together in a shallow plate and roll the cream cheese ball until completely coated. 
  5. Keep it chilled until ready to serve.
