Oven baked, this bread is an excellent combination of dates and pecans for a guilty pleasure. It’s full of nutrients and protein. It’s perfect for breakfast, your afternoon snack, and small gatherings with friends for coffee. It’s irresistible.  

List of Ingredients

2 ½ cups of chopped dates

1 ½ cups of boiling water

1 ½ tsp baking soda

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

¼ tsp ground cloves, ¼ cinnamon, ¼ ginger, ¼ nutmeg

2 tablespoons soft butter

1 ¼ cups sugar

1 egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 ½ cups chopped pecans

Directions

Step 1: Start off by grabbing a large bowl and placing your dates in it. Add your boiling water and baking soda and mix it all together. Leave it aside while you get another bowl and combine your flour, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. You let it rest aside and get another bowl for your last mix. Beat your butter and sugar until it becomes a crumbly texture, then add your egg and vanilla. Then add in your flour mix with the date mix all together while stirring the pecans.

Step 2: Choose your loaf pan mold, grease it and pour your mix. Turn on your oven and bake it at 350 for 65-75 minutes. I would recommend you do this recipe in the daytime. Let it cool for 10 minutes and enjoy!
